How do I best care for my essential oils and fragrances?

Our botanical extracts & essential oils are derived from plants or trees – typically the flowers, leaves, roots or wood.  Their purity offers a wide range of therapeutic benefits, and an amazing palette of fragrances from which we create our unique products.  To preserve the natural characteristics of plant based materials, they must be protected from sunlight, oxygen, and high temperature. We use Miron Violet Glass bottles for our essential oils.  Violet Glass blocks the spectrums of light known to degrade essential oils. These bottles are superior to all other types of glass commonly used with essential oils.We use Miron Violet glass bottles, which block the oils from direct sunlight, however you can also help maintain the quality of your Lavender & Black essential oils and fragrances by keeping them in a cool place, away from sunlights and make sure the bottles are securely closed when not in use.

How can I use my essential oils?

There are a variety of ways for you to enjoy essential oils. Here are a few ideas:

Direct palm inhalation:  Place a drop of lavender essential oil on your palm, rub your hands together, cup your hands over your nose and take 3 deep breaths with your mouth slightly open (you can also use a nasal inhaler).

Massage:  Blend your essential oil with a carrier oil such as olive oil, coconut oil or jojoba.  A healthy adult can use approximately 15 drops essential oil in 30 ml of carrier oil.  Children, pregnant women, elderly persons and those who are frail should use less essential oil – about 5 drops into 30 ml carrier oil.  However it is best to consult a trained massage therapist, aromatherapist, or your physician if you have significant health concerns.

Baths and Shower:  Add a couple of drops of essential oil to bath water, or use with bath salts.

Diffuse: Diffusers, nebulizers, vaporizers, and aroma lamps are very popular means of dispersing the therapeutic properties of the essential oil blend and its fragrance to your immediate surroundings.
