Lavender & Black is a family run farm, distillery and shop located on beautiful Salt Spring Island BC.  Here we grow a wide range of flowers and aromatic herbs, including helichrysum, lavender, rosemary, sage, and many others. Together with sustainably gathered plants from the surrounding forests and sea, we have a rich palette of unique botanicals as the foundation for our products.

 

 

We practice natural farming—which focuses on soil health, plantings integrated into the treed native landscape, pollinator habitat, water conservation, and organic growing practices.  Harvested by hand and processed in small batches—including artisanal distilling of essential oil and hydrosol—our ingredients have exceptional fragrance, taste, and therapeutic benefits for body and mind.

Our philosophy extends to the sourcing of ingredients we don’t grow or harvest ourselves—choosing organic, natural, and local wherever possible.   

We intentionally formulate our products for high potency by selecting the very best ingredients for purpose and then keeping them concentrated.  This allows for the use of smaller product containers than you might be used to, and enables you to use less product with each application. We believe that the best products for your body and home are derived from nature—and as such are pure, simple and effective.

Our intention is to create products in relationship with nature that are regenerative and healing to the people, plants and places we connect with.
